Prayers please....
Please think of Josh and Jody (and Avery) at this time. They are going through a tough time and could use all the prayers they can get right now. We know we can't see God's big picture, but it's also so hard to see how this fits in right now. Lots of healing and patience is needed. We are thinking of you guys and love you all.
Loads of fun

The dog days of August
What a weird summer it has been. We got our good tans in the Spring, then Summer was cool and rainy, now we are back to hot hot hot.... although at least it isn't in the 100's as some summers can be! We were all ready to leave for Kaidire's "surprise" and decided to go outside for a little while we waited for lunch then we would leave.
It all started with me watering the trees.... and ended with...
two wet wet children!

Jimmy and Bonnie came over to watch the fun and of course little man wants Jimmy to hold him - what a trooper he is!

Giving Sissy a drink

When we got in, Kason was covered in dirt so in the sink he went. I had the last of my garden cucumbers sitting there so he picked one up and started munching...

So, two new sets of clothes and one new diaper later and we were on our way to check out the very best Christmas present a little girl named Kaidrie could ever think of! She is so excited about it, and isn't thrilled about waiting another 3 months to adopt her! (no... not a puppy or anything like that... I'm NOT that crazy!)
And last but not least... Dino Kason....

Kason goes beyond the walking now - he's off and running! He definitely knows how to make his wants known now! Right now he is banging a toy on the fireplace. After telling him no, I went up to him and said, "Kason, mommy said NO" He looked at me with that ornery little grin and leaned over and kissed me. Boy does this kid know how to work it!
Kaid's sweet story of the day... I made taco salad for dinner and after she ate all of hers she said "Mommy, I didn't like this, but thank you for making it." Oh what a sweetie.
Here are the kids having fun dancing around the house... Kason had stopped the dancing part by the time the camera came out, but he did his round and round trick...
until next time....

A weekend full of Birthday's!
Saturday we had Zoey's 1st birthday party! I can't believe the little peanut is one already!
Eatin her cake - and guess who decorated it?! Her daddy! They had little ladybug cupcakes also that were ADORABLE!

Kaid is so excited to eat hers...

Kason trying to eat the last few bites of ice cream...

Zoey got a fun wagon from her mommy and daddy - the kids couldn't get enough of riding in it.

yeah, not looking forward to 10 years down the road!

Then Sunday - onto Isaiah's 2nd Birthday party! Chad buzzed his hair and Kim thinks he looks like Saint Jude's next poster child! lol He looks cute with and without hair!

After Kason got out he was pushing the kids all over the place in the wagon! Strong man!

It was a little chilly that morning so I brought warm clothes for the kids. I thought I grabbed one of his 12 mo. long sleeve shirts and I couldn't figure out why the sleeves were so short - until I looked at the tag - it was 6-9 month! No wonder!
New Tricks
Pop stopped by the day after Kason's surgery and brought him this fun balloon. The kids thought it was GREAT!

Throwing it down

On Saturday the little man learned a new trick. He just started going around in circles. Now when we say "round and round and round" he starts spinning - then of course ends up dizzy and falls down....

A Rough day for a little man!
Today was the big day.... Poor kid had no clue what was about to happen. He was so cute playing in the waiting area. He was just running around and "talking" having a good old time... making friends with everyone especially the nurses. They just loved him!

He looked so stinkin cute in his little outfit.

Officially a patient

Kason playing Doctor!

2 hours is a long time for a little guy to wait. He was getting antsy - Luckily they had lots of toys to play with... but when you are a busy one year old that doesn't take up that much time! He was so funny... until he got used to his slippery socks, he would try to take off running and even though there were grippers on the bottom would wipe out! Notice the mark beside his Right eye to mark the eye they needed to work on.

He went through a tough time that he was sick of waiting and he would do his pout thing. Don't worry, his face is on his feet not the hospital floor!

The actual surgery only took about 15 minutes and the Dr. was out letting us know all went well. It took about 30 + min until we were allowed to go see him. I guess it took them a little longer than expected to extubate him (to take his breathing tube out) and for him to wake up enough for us to come back. He was so sad when he saw us and immediately jumped up (as well as he could) for us to pick him up.

The nurse got him some juice and he laid in daddy's arms for the last part of his hospital recovery that lasted another 30+ min. He was pretty grumpy when he actually woke up off and on... can't say I blame him!

His poor little hand where his IV was.

The only way I could get him settled back down was to sing "the wheels on the bus" then he would calm down and sleep a little more. Mommy looks like she had some good drugs too - yikes!

On the way home he was passed out - we transferred him into his crib and didn't hear a peep out of him until I woke him up at 5:30 so he would eat something. Poor guy when almost 24hours with only juice and water!

What a brave little guy! The nurse took his blood pressure, checked his oxygen level, got his measurements and weight, and of course temp. He was in awe watching what she was doing.

Then came the time to get his little baby scrubs and gown on.
He looked so stinkin cute in his little outfit.

I'm so glad this day is almost over! Poor guy. He was quite the trooper and did so well. I hope this is the fix to his yucky eye - I don't want him to have to go through this a second time! Thanks for all of your prayers and thoughts. He came though everything just fine and he's acting more like himself now and just ate a GREAT dinner - little man was hungry!
Aunt Bethy's house
Mom's birthday was this past Saturday, so mom and I planned to do some good ol' fashioned HC touristing! Beth and Meggy have been wanting to have a Kaid overnighter, so thrown in a 2 year old and a 1 year old and maybe they got more than they bargained for! I told Beth it was like a flash back 10 years ago with Emily, Megan and Clay (only they wern't quite this close together in ages!) The kids had a great time!
