Kaid's new doo!

After the water park this week I knew I just HAD to get this kids hair chopped before swimming season! So today we did it. We talked about doing Locks for Love, but I wasn't sure if I was ready (or if daddy could handle it!) for her hair to get cut that short! She was a little stinker at first and didn't want to cooperate, but once she got started she did great. She loves it - and her all time favorite thing about her new haircut - she doesn't have to get yelled at to get her hair out of her food every 2 minutes while she's eating! I must say that's my favorite part too - that or not having to hear her scream while combing the food out of her hair!

and the back... I can't believe how DARK it looks with her blond tips cut off. I'm sure it will lighten up again over the summer.

Oh and how could I forget - we didn't have the balloon in the other pictures!

Escape from reality!

Randy called me from work the other day and said we've got to go somewhere to get a break from this weather! So I started calling around to some indoor water parks. Anywhere that is 90* sunny and has water is a place for us!

We didn't tell Kaid where we were going (and go figure the bathing suit didn't give her enough of a hint!) so she was thrilled when she saw what we were doing!

lol - she cracks me up in this picture - so excited she can barely contain herself!

What a cutie - just hangin around...

Tubing on the lazy river.

Time out for some good eats!

Although I wish it could have been the real thing - there's just something not right leaving a waterpark and not being sunburnt that just doesn't seem right - we had a great time. Kason was in bed by 6:30, Kaid at 7:30 me by 8:30 and Randy by 9:30! We were beat! AND everyone slept in until 8! WoW!

Our little gummy bear

Kaid was such a champ!! I was so proud of how brave she was! We told her they were going to try to fix her tooth and didn't make a big deal over it before we went. She was so cooperative and just held my hand the whole time. It wasn't until we were getting ready to leave that she starting flipping out. She must have run her tongue over her missing tooth and started crying hysterically because "Mommy, I won't be able to eat without my tooth!" Even after I comforted her she screamed the whole way home.

As soon as we got home she opened her presents for being so brave then she slept most of the evening. Sleepy eyed Kaid!
Even the morning after she was tired - she took an awesome nap again! That laughing gas must have really worn her out!

Kaid has been practicing writing her name and is starting to recognize letters.

Showing me her initals!

So proud showing of her new smile.

She's back to her goofy self today - I'm sure it's a little different trying to talk without her tooth, but she's exaturating her slurring just a bit! :) I have to keep reminding her to try to talk normally!

Check it out!

Kason was so funny last evening. He must have been trying to tell me that he wasn't hungry anymore and closing his eyes was the only way to get it across. So funny! And check out my 80's girl with her headband!

Caught in the act!

Kason has been pulling up to his knees for about a week or so on short things and I knew it was only a matter of time before he was pulling to stand and today it happened! Little stinker! He's doing the worm crawl all over the place - nothing is safe! His favorite thing is to pull the baby monitor off of the mantle and has already pulled the plant by the sliding door down on himself. What a mess! I do believe we are in for it with this one here in the next few months! He has been going from crawling to sitting very easily for a while now and just got his 6th tooth. I can't believe he will be 8 months old in 4 days! I thought time went by quickly with Kaidrie - it is flying by this time around!

Bye Bye baby smile.....

Well, about 9 months ago our family was here visiting and the kids were having a fun time getting piggy back rides on their uncle's back.... Kaid bonked her head on Evanne's head and cried and cried and cried. We thought she was just being a baby and told her to shake it off. About 2 months later she said, "mommy, my tooth doesn't hurt anymore!" Yikes, you mean it HAD been hurting all this time?!?! Over the next couple of months we noticed it started going gray, then about a month ago she was complaining about it hurting again. About 2 weeks ago she told me she wanted to go to the Doctor to show them her tooth and have them make it feel better.
So, we finally found a kid-friendly dentist (the one she went to when she turned 3 wasn't very kid friendly and she screamed and wouldn't open her mouth.) that accepted our insurance. The Dr looked at it and took x-rays and we have to go on Friday to have it pulled. Yikes! Poor baby! So, think of us and say a little prayer for her. She was so brave on Monday and pray she's just as brave on Friday! She doesn't know what's going to happen yet, we have just told her that she is going to fix her tooth!

Our last picture of that baby tooth smile...

You can see the gray in this one pretty well.

I'll update after Friday and let everyone know how she did and show some updated pictures!

Finding fun indoors!

Last Saturday night we headed to HoCo to watch the girls play basketball! Mom came to the game to pick the kids up to spend a little time with them while Randy and I got a "date night" Actually it ended up just being a go back to Paul and Lu's and eat Pizza Parlor night, but it was great to not have to worry about getting back to put the kids to bed! We spend a few hours Sunday morning with mimi and Pop playing then on to Kirb and Lisa's.

I love it when Kason sits - he curls his little toes down. It must be how he balances himself!

Happy 3rd Birthday Evanne! Poor girl is going to have to share her birthday with a super bowl party every year!

Kaid and AJ just itching to help her open gifts!

Look we're twins!
Supporting the boys in the game!

Evanne was so funny - all night she was walking around playing then all of a sudden she would get this pouty look on her face and say "I'm grumpy, I'm Mad and grumpy!"

Last night we went to Angie's house to play. The kids had a blast playing downstairs while the moms and the babies had fun chatting upstairs!
Angie with Brooklyn - 2 weeks, Lori with Zoey - 5 months, Me with Kason - 7 months

Kason with his girlfriends!

Oh - it's okay Brooklyn, don't cry - I may have my arm around Zoey, but I love you too!

This morning the kids looked so cute sitting their watching Kaid's morning shows. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures!

I'm thinking it's a stay in jammies day - 10AM here and we're so cozy! :)
