Our monster isn't as big of a monster as we thought he was!

Look how big I am!

Just had to post a little here.... Kason had his Dr apt today. He was 28 1/4 in tall (85th percentile) and 19lbs 6oz!!! But guess what - that's only the 65th percentile! I was shocked! My Dr said - oh yeah, you'd be surprised at how many babies at this age are over 20lbs! So yes, although we all think he's a monster because we are all used to tiny babies, he's really not all that big for his age! I was fully expecting him to be in the 90th+! I asked again about his eye gunk situation also and he said we will give it until his next appointment at 9 months (one year would be the latest we could wait to get it fixed) and if it's still bad he will refer us to an eye Dr to make new tear ducts for him... yikes. So please pray they clear up for him so he doesn't have to go through that!

Kason "tasting" his world! I saw him trying to eat the on/off fireplace valve and ran to get the camera - by the time I got back he had moved on to the tile.
Okay - so maybe he is a monster after all! He bites, kicks, grabs, pulls on any and everything! Not because he's mad - just because he can! So here are a couple of my battle wounds... this one I got a good bruise from a shoulder bite! It looked worse in person than it does in a picture!

Then here after a bite on the arm - he's quite the little stinker!

What a mess!!

Our first mess of the week was Kason's first Biter biscuit! He had a grand ol time making a big ol mess! These things are usually for babies that are starting to teeth and they just gum them - Kason with his 5 teeth got through it pretty fast! He did really good even with the little chunks that broke off! I'm going to love this self feeding thing!

Getting ready for the second big mess of the week. He wasn't very impressed with me! It was like A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!" It didn't help that the snow suit was quite big on him!
Kaid went out to play while Randy was shoveling the driveway and just for pictures sake Kason and I ventured out for a max of 5 minutes. Once again - he was not impressed with the whole thing!
hmmm... but I bet this white stuff tastes pretty good!

It is just a mess outside! Ice, snow, freezing rain, yuck.... I worked night shift Tuesday night and had quite the long trip into work both ways even though it's only about 10 min. down the road. I called Randy this morning to see how his ride into work was and he said "sideways!" I'm SO ready for spring. I'm sure many of you saw on Jody's blog - but Josh had quite the scare yesterday. A snow plow hit a patch of ice and clipped him and flipped his Jeep. So scary and we feel so awful for him - his Jeep is a wreck. All that work he put into it - it was his baby. We just thank God he was okay - vehicles can be replaced! For those of you with warm/er weather - please send some our way!

I'm SEVEN months old!

I can't believe the little stinker is 7 months old already! He is moving all around now and is a noisy (and nosey!!) little thing. He's still working hard on the crawling thing and although it looks more like a cross between a bear crawl and like my friend Ashley from college doing the "worm" he manages to make is way around! He is very easy to make giggle even when he's mad and thinking about crying one funny face and he's a giggle box! We started a few finger foods this week - mainly just the Gerber puffs that melt in your mouth and he LOVES them! His eating is back to normal now that he is healthy again (he had Bronchiolitis and was SO sick for about 2 weeks - poor little man!) and he's even starting to try and like the fruits. He would clamp his mouth shut after one bite before now! Anyway - here are some pictures of my little/or big rather.... 7 month old! We go to the Dr tomorrow for shots, but when we went for his sick baby visit 1 1/2 weeks ago he weighed 19lbs exactly. Woah!

Kason thinks he's hot stuff in the block bucket!

this is what the first part of his "worm" looks like...right before he flings himself forward. You can see the frustration in his face on this one!

Here I captured the "bear" phase of his so called "crawling"

He's doing very good at the sitting thing and always has to have something in his mouth - this time a sock was the object of choice!

Mom came for a visit last weekend. It was so fun to have her here. She and Kaid read an endless amount of books, Kason and mimi got some much desired bonding time and I got to do a little running without 2 kids to bundle up and track in and out of stores... A great time was had by all!

Of course for some reason Kaid was being a stinker when it came to picture time.... go figure.

These two just play together so well! Now that Kason is more mobile Kaid is starting to get to that "He's got my toy" stage that will last years and years and years. But all in all they are best buds!

I'm the King of the mountain!

Hey - who turned out the lights!!

Go Steelers!

It's been a busy week at our house.... It started off at Kirby and Lisa's on Sunday and traveling back on Monday. On Sunday evening Kason started not feeling so hot - by the next day the poor little man was so sick. It just breaks my heart listening to him try to cry and only a little squeak comes out. He just sounds aweful. I worked Tuesday and Wednesday and daddy suffered through the days just holding Kason pretty much all day. Today he's acting a little better, but you can tell he still doesn't feel so hot so I'm going to take him in to make sure it's still just a cold and isn't turning into something more.... yuckko, poor baby.

So, finally I have Kason asleep in his crib instead of on my chest for the time being, so I can post a little! The guys were so excited on the ending of the Steelers game! Yeah! Kirb and Lisa wanted to take pictures of their family and all the kids in their Steelers gear and I figured since we were all dressed in our gear also we may as well too! Randy was really excited to take MORE pictures! :)

Kirby, Lisa, AJ, Evanne and baby girl coming in a couple of months!

So, while the oldest 2 were being uncooperative we snapped quite a few of the 3 younger kids being good - go figure! Isaiah looks so cute - maybe thinking "yay, Go Steelers!"
All of the kids - AJ 4 1/2, Kaid 3 1/2, Evanne almost 2, Isaiah 1, Kason almost 7 months
Kason was starting to feel yucky around this time, you can definitely tell he's not feeling all that great!

I just love this picture - how sweet does Evanne look looking at her big cousin!

AJ and Kaid being ornery - wow - when they get together they are trouble!

One day last week while I was at work Daddy had some fun with Kaid.

Randy installing our new faucet. The sprayer had been leaking for about a month or so and I realized while spring cleaning a few weeks ago that it was draining under the sink - what a mess!

Oh to have healthy kids again - I can't wait!

A pretty princess and a little prince

Kaid is really into getting all dressed up and of course mommy has to take a picture with every outfit! Everything from crown to shoes - she sure is all girl!
Cute little ballerina

Kaidrie loves it when we let her take a few pictures and she's actually getting pretty good at it... by this I mean she actually gets faces in the picture now! Wahoo!

What a sweet little man Kason is. He's sitting on his own much better now - I'm so excited about this! He's quite the spitter and I'm really getting tired of baby food orange and green spots popping up all over our carpet! Maybe this will help the spitting issue!
I just love his little outfit Kim and Chad got him for Christmas! It fits him perfectly!

2 nights ago he started doing "push-up's" One step closer to crawling!

Then today the Kason push-up is making a little more progress....
only... if you can see the progression of the pictures - it's going in the wrong direction.... backwards!

He's working so hard at it - it's so fun watching him learn!
I'm gonna get you!

Some other new things he's doing: He looks for toys he throws off his highchair and looks for us when we are playing peek-a-boo. He laughs at funny faces that we make. He's obviously a good eater and hasn't rejected anything yet... he had his first taste of fruit the other day, yummm... banannas!

Kason's first big boy bath!

Well, it was about time! He had well outgrown the baby bath and was splashing so much I was getting tired of cleaning drops of water off my mirror. I just hadn't taken the time to switch it out for the big bath seat. Kaid was so excited when I told her Kason was going to take a bath with her in the big tub. He loved it and was so cute - he just kept moving his little feet around in the water - how fun!

Just as cute as he could be!

Love this one with his arm around sissy.

I tried to do the hair straight up shot of the two of them, but Kaid's hair is so long it wouldn't stand up!

All clean and cozy in their new jammies! Beth and Co. got Kaid's for her and Jody got Kason his.

I just love this one even though it's another one of those crazy eye shots of Kaid! lol She's going to love looking back at her pics when she's older and laugh!
