It's going to be a rough day!

UPDATED:

The time has come to have Kason's eye fixed. It still hasn't cleared up and the Pediatrician said we wouldn't want to wait longer than a year. So, today we had our appointment with the Eye Doctor. She said it is definitely a clogged tear duct and if it hasn't cleared up by now the chances are slim that it will clear up on its own. So, his surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th. It sounded on the phone when I made this appointment that they would be doing it today, but she said they do it at Children's because he obviously will need anesthesia for it. Poor little guy. Anyway - prayers will be needed for him that day. I've heard it's not a bad procedure, but it still can't be fun!

Little bub also went for his 1 year appointment today and got 4 shots and a toe prick to check for anemia (he didn't even make a peep when she did the toe prick - he was just watching her the whole time!). At 13months he weighs 23lbs 15oz which was the 60th percentile (which means he weighs more than 60% of the babies his age) and was 32 in long which was the 90th percentile (taller than 90% of the babies his age) He's a big boy!

He's doing lots of new things - he loves to carry and push big things around... such as pillows and our big block foot rests. He points at everything. Shakes his head yes and no, and has been calling me mama all day! He loves to flip and climb - and is very good at the fine motor things like putting little things in the right place. I asked our Dr today about the talking and he said he is not concerned at all that he's not talking yet. He said Kaid was a jabber jaws at this age already because she's a girl - he said he wouldn't be concerned unless he's not doing 3 word phrases by 2 1/2. Everything other than his eye issue looked great!

Lion's and Tigers... or maybe just giraffes and zebras!

Saturday morning before Mere's wedding we went to "The Farm" in Walnut Creek. Mom treated us and we even went on the wagon ride! It was just amazing - and even cooler to know it's right there in HC!

Here's Aiden our tour guide - and the horses Rita and _____ The ride lasted about an hour and a half.

They warned me about taking a stroller on the wagon - that they couldn't guarantee that the animals wouldn't grab it - but I assured them - he was MUCH safer in the stroller than trying to bounce all around the wagon. I don't think any of us would have enjoyed the wagon ride at all had he been "free" Notice the sweatshirts - yeah, who would have thought we'd have to dress this way in JULY!

Jody and her new best friend

Check out that over-bite!

Kason's new trick - pointing at everything... there was plenty to point at on this trip!

Alpacas
The beautiful rolling hills

A momma and her baby

Uh Oh - looks like someone is a little close to the bucket....

mmmm - tasty, and we're feeding this to the animals? Oh Kason....

ZEBRA'S!

Just amazing,beautiful creatures!

I love this picture! Lets you see how close we were to these guys! The Zebra's were the only 4 legged animals we couldn't feed out of our hands - they bite!

The Ostriches running up to the wagon - it kind of scared me for a minute seeing them run towards us - you almost expected them to attack!

The king on the mountain

Baby Llama

Potbellied pig and 2 of her babies

Billy Goats Gruff

Kaid trying to feed the baby ones

When the wagon would move again this is what it looked like behind us with all the animals getting the food dropped.

This cow was so obnoxious! He was constantly sticking his tongue out at us to beg for food! He almost got Jody's butt at one point.... :)

What a beautiful animal - a HUGE Elk - Rambo

Kaidrie trying to keep the animals from reaching their noses in the wagon to eat out of her bucket.

Mom trying to point out the food to the Elk - sorry mom, I don't think he understood.

Kason loved watching them - They would come so close to his toes to get the food on the wagon.

A Bison feeding her baby

The last place we went was to see the giraffes! It was amazing to be that up close with such a beautiful BIG animal! They are such gentle animals and ate right out of our buckets! Here I am giving one a bite to eat!

The little guy - so cute.

Mimi and Avery give it a try.

Kason relaxing and watching the show

Kaid was a little overwhelmed by the giraffes and although she love watching them, didn't want to give the feeding a try.

I love this picture!

After our buckets were empty they went back to doing their thing.

After the wagon ride they had an area to walk around to see some other animals - they had everything from ducks, birds, monkeys, turtles, porcupines, and Kangaroos.

A momma Kanga with her Joey

After the trip - can you tell we got a little wet - it was beautiful at this point of the day, but it was a drizzly mess most of the morning.

One of the monkeys

Polly want a cracker...

Whew - I'm lookin good :) Yeah, glad I didn't shower before this trip - the rain and animal stink and slime - gross!
As you can see the landscaping was amazing also!

Jody and Avery - what a sweet picture of them!

After seeing all of the animals they had an Amish barn and house you could tour. We went in the house to get some amazing home baked cookies - they were yummy! I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone! It was a blast for all ages!

And two become one...

We headed back to HC this weekend for a long-awaited wedding! My friend Meredith from high school got married on Saturday. The rehearsal was on Friday night. We took the kids along so everyone could see them since it had been a while - Mr Kason was CRAZY! Busy little boy! :)

Here we are hanging out at the church...

Mere and Bob "practicing" for the big day. Mere is just beaming! I love it!

Mere and Steve AKA: Bride and Groom Ah yes, and notice Mere's beautiful cast. She broke her arm a month before the wedding (freak rollerblading accident where a kid from her school ran her over!) At least the hard cast was off by the wedding and their 3 WEEK honeymoon in Hawaii!

The girls from high school sang "The Ash Grove" - a song we all first sang together in 7th grade
Molli, me, Amy, Mere, Heather, Bethany, Jen

Molli's little girl, Maici and Kaid had a BLAST playing together! It's like a mini Janna and Molli all over again!

The fam

Kason working on his corn hole skills - he was SO sleepy (as was mommy!) by this time!

just cheating a bit..

And the WEDDING!
The real walk down the isle.

Singing - and we all made it through the song (even the BRIDE!) - yay us! Amy is at the piano - Randy didn't want her in the picture because her belly was TOO BIG TO FIT! :)

Hard to believe that a little over 6 years ago - we were doing the same thing!

Beth, Heather, Bonnie and Amy chowing down.

The girls once again.

Even though the weather didn't quite cooperated most of the day - they had a beautiful wedding! The rain was actually a blessing because it cooled the air down for the evening in the tent!
