Key West

Even though Randy was hoping to sleep in, I made it clear that we didn't come here to sleep! :) I wanted to see all we could see before we had to be back on the ship at around 2:30

Getting off the Ship in Key West, Florida - what a BEAUTIFUL day. It was a little over casted, but still very nice.

These 2 crazy guys on the ship always had something interesting on. Today's outfit - cowboy hats (they always wore those) and kilts.

Check out Randy way down at the bottom! This ship is HUGE and it is the SMALLEST in the Royal Caribbean fleet!

We did some shopping and walking around. I would have loved to hit the Aquarium and the Butterfly conservatory, but didn't have time before our "on shore excursion" we had booked.

The view off the Key West port. A little info on Key West that we didn't know: All of the Islands are attached by bridges and it takes about 3 1/2 hours to drive from Key West all the way to the first Florida Key.

No onto a fun trip. Called the White Knuckle for a reason, it was a speed boat thrill ride. The boat went about 55 mph and the driver would do 360's and act like he was going to drive straight into the poles in the middle of the Gulf. He would miss it by inches then make it look like we were going to hit the next one then do a 360 and again miss it by inches. It was a blast! We were there at a great time, because with the oil spills the owner is worried that they are going to have to pack up and move out. Such a pity - it's so beautiful there.

Yep, we were wet afterwards!

After the boat ride, we headed back on the ship to take off to the Bahama's. This was just a cool little island we were next to. Yeah, I'd live here if I had to. :)

A little closer peek

The ship had a rock climbing wall and I knew Randy would want to give it a go. I wanted to also after he was done and was all signed up then we asked for the time thinking we had over an hour until dinner.... nope, dinner was 25 minutes away and we both still had to shower and get ready for our formal evening... oops. So off we rushed.
Anyway, Randy getting ready to climb!

You'd never know this was his first time doing this. Like anything athletic - he made it look so easy. The guy running it was very impressed and told him to do the hardest one next time.

Our formal night. So fun to get dressed up!

Waiting for the Captain's speech

Our Ship's Captain.

And the head crew. We were so amazed at how diverse the crew was. They were from ALL over the world! I have never been somewhere where they treated you SO WELL. The staff was just amazing. Our ship held 2,000 guests and had 800 staff members. They were all amazing. The dinners were wonderful also. If you were unsure of what you wanted, you got them both. If you didn't like something, no problem, they had a new steak out done the way you wanted it in less that 5 minutes. It was very cool getting to try things you would never order any other place. Randy of course was the brave one, but I DID try a bite of everything. Yep, even escargot (sp? aka - SNAILS!)

Me and my honey

Nova, our cabin attendant always had fun towel animals waiting for us.
We tried to make it to as many shows as we could while we were there... here is a snip-it from one of them...

That night was the ships big poolside party. The food is just amazing. Talk about presentation! Wow!

We are too old for this late night things. We headed to bed soon after the party got started. We just can't hang. I mean.... the party started at 11:45 - what were they thinking!! :)
